Novelty 1.02 Patch Notes & Future plans
Good day to everyone!
Seems like my vacation trip is over and it's time to share my thoughts on the Novelty project, and also announce some upcoming changes & improvements.
But first, I wanna mention some changes made in the 1.02 patch:
- Settings menu partially reworked: tabs added & gamepad controls improved
- A sneak peek at the upcoming UX\Difficulty rework - Pickable items highlighting feature(toggleable in the settings)
- Brightness slider has been added to the settings
- Some performance tweaks & a few bugfixes
Upcoming major update.
Useless words aside, now it's time to talk about serious matters - the upcoming major changes I'm planning to make. According to the feedback I got here in the Itch.io comments and also from the third-parties, some amount of work needs to be done on the difficulty/user experience side of the game. Currently, I clearly see some people have troubles in (mostly) searching the items to proceed further, and I absolutely agree that there shouldn't be such issues for the players who are looking for more quest-like(so not pixel hunt) gameplay. I've currently added an option to improve the situation, so the items could be found more easily - pickable items highlighting. But that feature is just a part of the upcoming UX update that also includes improved hint system, more flexible difficulty level system(some options to simplify the puzzles, more detailed hints & etc). No release date yet, the mentioned features are gonna be delivered to you when they're ready. You can expect more details later on ;)
That's All Folks! :)
Thank you for your attention and have a nice day!
Feel free to leave your comments, discuss, criticize - I would be grateful :)
